This is my favourite pop music video. It has strong conventions of the stereotpyical pop music video, however in a way that is not similar to other pop music videos on the current market which i believe is very hard to do.
One Direction are the biggest boy band in the current market and one of the biggest and most popular artists in the world. I like this music videos due to its comical features that represent the band in a fun young way that mixes well with their music, and especially this song the 'best song ever'. The video has an obvious story line/narrative and theme which I really like as it makes the video seem fluent and clear; there is also no serious moral meaning which I think is suitable for the type of song it is presenting. Nevertheless, it shows the band as people who follow there own routes in the music industry and as young people who are not moulded into the pressures of being something they're not evident through there reactions to the comical ideas being brought up in the introduction of the video. This is suitable for the young audience and relates to Richard Dyers Star Theory stating that all stars are constructed, even as 'real' people.
This is a good example of a good pop music video as it shows the fun and young side of the music which I will be encorporating into my own music video.
